1445 "K" St. The State Capitol Building is Nebraska's most famous building. It was designed by architect Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue and was built in the years 1922-32 at a total cost of under $10 million. The structure is internationally recognized as an architectural achievement. Its many paintings and murals depict the history and culture of the pioneers who settled Nebraska. The tower is crowned by Lee Lawrie's "Sower," a figure representing the state's agricultural heritage.
